Great American Country, Country Artists To Salute American Armed Forces With Video Tributes
Few things are as patriotic as Memorial Day and country music. That's the reason television network Great American Country (GAC) is hosting Great American Dedications: A Memorial Day Salute throughout the holiday weekend, hosted by country music recording artists Charlie Daniels, Lonestar, Josh Gracin, Darryl Worley, Aaron Tippin, Craig Morgan and Chely Wright.
The three-day marathon througout Memorial Day weekend kicks off Friday evening at 8 p.m. Eastern with a special edition of GAC's video request show "CRL", followed Saturday, Sunday and Monday with video dedications from U.S. soldiers overseas to their friends and families back in the United States and vice versa.
"We are proud to be able to bring these messages and dedications from our brave soldiers to their loved ones back home," said Sarah Trahern, vice president of programming for GAC. "And we appreciate these artists who are giving their time to be a part of these dedications. Many of them have been entertaining the troops for years."
All of the artists hosting the tribute have some connection with the U.S. military. For example, Charlie Daniels frequently gives his time to entertain the U.S. Armed Forces. For more than 20 years he has brought his country and southern rock sounds to war zones around the world. Also, Darryl Worley, Aaron Tippin and Chely Wright have also traveled around the world to entertain American troops, while both Morgan and Gracin are military veterans. Morgan served in the Army for 10 years; and Gracin served as a Marine and gained fame with his appearance on the second season of "American Idol".
"All of my trips to visit the troops are very moving for me, but the 10 days in Iraq in September 2004 were filled with the highest of highs and, sadly, the lowest of lows," Wright said. "It was life changing. We don't simply take our show to them. We live with them. We see the regions in which they are stationed and the incredible differences in cultures, and we see the discipline and commitment that they posses."

The Bellamy Brothers Proclaim To Brooks & Dunn "It Wasn't Us!"
The Bellamy Brothers heard that during a recent WSM-AM broadcast reporting on the theft of Brooks & Dunn's ACM trophies, the on-personalities joked that "it was probably The Bellamy Brothers since they've never won an ACM award!"
According to David Bellamy, on tour with brother Howard to promote their latest duets CD Angels & Outlaws Volume 1 "We sympathize with Kix & Ronnie! We've been nominated twenty times for CMAs and ACMs and have never won, so we know how it feels to be robbed of an award!"

‘Faith Hill’s ‘Mississippi Girl’ To Premier On CMT Tomorrow, Thursday, May 26th
Faith Hill’s first single in nearly two years, “Mississippi Girl,” has exploded onto the country radio airwaves setting both new career and industry radio marks in this millennium. Now the song will celebrate its video premier this Thursday, May 26th (tomorrow) on CMT’s Top 20 Countdown.
Filmed last month at The Grand Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles and at Malibu Creek State Park in Calabasas, the video was directed by Wayne Isham (reigning CMT Award winner Best Video Keith Urban’s “Days Go By”). It combines an electrifying performance sequence, filmed before a live audience, with conceptual scenes created to accentuate the song’s autobiographical lyric.
“Wayne captures the essence of performance better than anyone I’ve ever seen,” said Faith. “And when that is combined with his passion, his enthusiasm and his talent the outcome is extraordinary. I hope that we’ve made a video that everyone will enjoy watching.”
Upon its release, country radio stations added “Mississippi Girl” at a rate not celebrated by ANY performer during this millennium. The song also gave Faith her highest chart debut on both Radio & Records (#27) and Billboard’s Radio Monitor (#27). This week, “Mississippi Girl” stands at #17 on Radio & Records and at #18 on Billboard’s Radio Monitor.
CMT, Ellen DeGeneres, who visited the set personally, as well The Today Show, Access Hollywood, Extra! and more, have been airing behind the scenes footage throughout the week in support of the CMT debut. Only CMT will broadcast the “Mississippi Girl” video in its entirety.
