Sony BMG signs another Idol

Sony BMG has added another former American Idol finalist, as Kristy Lee Cook, who appeared on the seventh season of the show, is signed to the 19 Recordings/Arista Nashville label.

You can listen for Kristy Lee's first single, "15 Minutes of Shame" hitting the airwaves on August 11th. Her album will be released in the fall.

Kristy Lee is teamed up with producer Brett James, and is currently recording the album in between dates on the American Idols Live Tour 2008.

With the announcement of her recording contract, Cook said, "I've wanted this for so many years. To have the chance to be a country singer - to make the music I love - and to have enjoyed the support of so many American Idol fans this past season, it all means more than I can put into words. Thank you so much to everyone. I'll do my best to make you proud!"
