In what is very little surprise to many Music City insiders, Wynonna and Naomi Judd have just made the official announcement that they are teaming up together one last time for a farewell tour. The rumor mill had been churning away ever since the pair's excellent performance during the CMA's back in November.
This will be the first tour for the Judds since 2000. Naomi was forced to drastically scale back her schedule back in 1991 after contracting hepatitis C.
The Judds were an instant sensation immediately after signing with RCA in 1983. After their debut single, 1983's "Had a Dream (for the Heart)," climbed to a respectable No. 17, the floodgates opened and 14 of their next 16 singles topped Billboard's Country chart. They would go on to capture Top Vocal Duo awards (or the equivalent) seven times from both the CMA's and the ACM's, as well as five Grammy awards for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.
No dates or cities have been announced yet for the upcoming tour. I'll keep you posted.

I jus read bout Wynonna & Naomi’s Farewell Tour!! I had to unfornetly work during the awards show last Nov so this to me comes as a sort of big surprise!! It also saddens me greatly to see that 2 such beautiful young women with such excellent singing voices are also calling it quits!!! They are both such a True Inspiration & have been in my life since they had started out in Country Music…especially knowing that we all come from simliar backgrounds & have seen throughout the years what all theyve overcome has made me soooo much more motivated to hopefully one day soon somehow be able to try my hand at Country Singing & possibly songwriting as well.. Right now Im still looking for a band but am also a Lyricist working with some of my friends bands locally & a few nationally well known ones also in different genres of music hope i can jus get my name out there somehow for some kind of amazing start in the Industry!!! I also help promote my friends bands as well….My lifelong dream is to be able to sing at least Once before I die at the Grand Ole Opry in front of a live Audience….& to be able to SING WITH all of the Country Singers/Songwriters & life long Legends as well.As well as hopefully get some of my song lyrics set to their styles of music as well….THE JUDDS Wlll FOREVER NOT ONLY REMAIN A BIG PART OF COUNTRY MUSIC HISTORY BUT ALSO WILL REMAIN A GREAT MOTIVATION & INSPIRATION TO people like myself & many others like me that have come from simliar backgrounds as to theirs!!!!! God Bless them both!!! ty Sonia Hermann
Keep singing Sonia your day will come. I can’t imagine that they will be able to play that many dates with Naomi’s health. Presumably a farewell album will come out as well.
