After living in the Austin area for several decades, Willie Nelson will soon have his own street downtown.
The Austin City Council has voted to rechristen Second Street as the much cooler-sounding, Willie Nelson Boulevard. In addition to that honor, the legendary country singer may also one day have a life-size statue erected in front of the Austin City Limits studio; the nonprofit group Capital Area Statues is currently working to raise money for one.
Though the street will still also remain Second Street, people who live or work on it will be able to get their mail delivered using the more rockin' address.

It is about time that Willie is getting some recognition from the area that he lives in. What Willie has done for the country music scene can never be repaid in full. God Bless the USA and God bless Willie Nelson.
