Carrie Underwood Tops CMT Music Awards

Follow me on:

Carrie UnderwoodFans had the final say last night in Nashville, when the 2010 CMT Music Awards were handed out in a ceremony at Bridgestone Arena downtown. The only completely fan-voted country award show went off without a hitch, despite the recent flooding that the area is still recovering from.

Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert were among the night's biggest winners, nabbing best male video of the year ("'Til Summer Comes Around") and best female video of the year ("White Liar"), respectively. Meanwhile, Carrie Underwood took home top honors with video of the year for "Cowboy Casanova" and performance of the year for a live version of "Temporary Home," featured on CMT's concert series, Invitation Only.

See performances from the show at CMT's website, including the hard country-rocking opening number by host Kid Rock (with a number of special guests).

Bravo! Carrie Underwood has indeed become a force to be musical force reckoned with. She’s a great inspiration to aspiring country goddesses like Sandra Piller.
