Taylor Swift's powerhouse single "We're Never Ever Getting Back Together" is #1 on the country charts for the eighth week in a row.
Which means it's set to break records. Right now, the tune has tied with Connie Smith's "Once a Day," for convoluted bragging rights: solo female country performer with the most consecutive weeks at #1.

I think the song “We are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and its official video speaks volumes about exactly who Taylor Swift’s audience is. The lyrics sound like something a 14 year old would write and the video itself looks like something a 14 or 15 year old kid would do. Very silly and middle schoolish. She did such a nice job on “Safe and Sound,” I thought she was going to actually do adult music but guess that was a mistake. What happens when her audience grows up?
