Garth Brooks Concert Review: Lexington, KY

Dateline: 05/25/98

Garth Brooks in Lexington, KY

Hello Kentucky!!!!

While those two words, spoken by the man himself weren't the start of my adventure in Kentucky, they were the start of two of the best concerts of my life.

But then when isn't a Garth concert one of the musical highlights of a lifetime? I've been to four of Garth's concerts now, and they just keep getting better and better.

Roadtrip Beginnings...Garth Glossary

It all started a few months ago when I was talking with my friend, Darla in chat. She was hoping to see Garth in Kentucky, and I asked her if I flew in, would she be able to pick me up at the airport and would she hang out with me. She agreed, and the roadtrip was born.

Things changed quite a bit over the planning stages, and starting the beginning of April, I decided to keep a diary of my roadtrip plans.

Well, I must say I had a blast preparing for this trip. It had been a while since I had taken a vacation, so it was extra special that my first vacation in over a year would be to see Garth in Kentucky.

GarthMoment: When Garth notices YOU, waves, smiles, or whatever...

GarthSqueezie: Garth's arms around ya, making you feel his love. :)

GarthCited: The way you feel when you hear G Minus 5!!!

GarthBumps: The way you feel when you get a GarthMoment.

Garthgasm: That tingly way you feel when you hear Garth's sexy voice singing, talking or whispering (ala... Anonymous.)

Garth-o-meter: The rating you give a GarthMoment (I would rate it a 10 on the Garth-o-meter!

Roadtrip Continued...
Some of the things our group planned included coming up with signs. We decided to have each of the 6 people that sat in the floor seats we were lucky enough to purchase hold a sign up with a word that formed a sentence. We would have two sayings, one on the front and one on the back. I've made two graphics to represent these signs below:

Garth is our Adonis in blue jeans

Let us make you feel our love

Not only did we plan to make signs, but we each brought Garth a gift as well. I sewed a small blue stuffed star not only for Garth, but for each of my seven GarthBuds.

I didn't take a picture of the finished stars, but I have a photo of the star before I wrote on it. Each star said Garth Brooks on the front, and May 16, 1998 Lexington, KY on the back. I wrote this in black sharpie pen.

Here's a pic of one of the stars:

Yes, I did go to Lexington to see Garth, but I also got to get to know 7 of the nicest, and sweetest Garth fans around. This is more of the personal side of my trip.

Concert Review
Here's my actual review of the two concerts I attended in Lexington. The Friday night show has less detail due to my pen running out of ink, so I wasn't able to get a play list.

A Few Words from Arlene & Dawn
You can read my personal review of the concerts in the link above, but here is a view of the weekend, and the concerts from two of my GarthBuds, Arlene and Dawn.

Slide show
Here's a slideshow of 43 of my photos from both Friday and Saturday nights. Sit back and enjoy the show. It will scroll through all the pictures automatically, or you can use the links to go forward, backward, come back to this page, or go to the Index on the site.
