Garth Brooks took Manhattan and made it his own during his Free Concert in Central Park on August 7, 1997. The concert was broadcast live on HBO, Originally scheduled to run for 1 1/2 hours, it ran over by 15 minutes, much to the delight of Garth's fans watching at home.
The author, being one of the millions that watched it at home was truly delighted at the extra time Garth was given. The lucky fans that attended the concert in New York were entertained for another 20-45 minutes (depending on who you ask).
Fans lucky enough to witness the concert live were treated to an additional 3 songs not shown to viewers on HBO. These were:
I especially loved the way he was in awe of both Billy Joel and Don McClean as they sang. He was like a kid in a candy store, and it truly showed. Video Clips:
