Coming soon to a radio or tv near you.. a new Alan Jackson commercial for Ford trucks, using his song "Gone Country," which has been rewritten and named, "Ford Country."

You may remember his song "Mercury Blues" was rewritten and used in Ford commercials previously.

The campaign kicks off on April 1st.

Jo Dee Messina who was recently nominated for six Boston Music Awards, will perform on the Awards show, which is scheduled for April 22nd at the Orpheum Theater in Boston.

District Attorney General Ron Davis has made a decision in the George Jones accident case. He believes that there is enough questions about the accident to a grand jury to decide whether Jones was drinking when he had the accident.

An interesting point is the fact that he hit the bridge at full speed, which is something other police say that drivers do after passing out behind the wheel. He didn't merely veer off the road.

The jury will decide whether or not to subpoena blood-alcohol tests from Vanderbilt University Hospital. The D.A. hasn't yet decided whether he'll seek the cellular records to verify that Jones was indeed talking on the phone when he had the crash.

Prosecutors will present the case to a Williamson County panel on May 10th.

In other George news...

WKDF in Nashville is now a country radio station, after a long history of playing rock 'n roll. They kicked off the new format with an interview with George Jones.

Garth Brooks calls it a year. Yep, unfortunately, with the spring being nearly over, Garth has decided to withdraw in order to devote more of his time to charity work.

Hmmm.....
