It's called "Shortenin' Bread" and they've shot a video which has a cameo by actor Gary Busey. The video is said to be along the lines of their other video for "Baby Likes To Rock It."
The Dixie Chicks make it Double Platinum! Their debut album, Wide Open Spaces has just hit the double platinum for sales in just nine short months.
At Collin Raye's fundraiser for child abuse prevention, Collin hit Kenny Rogers for $1700.00. How's that? Well, Kenny agreed to donate 100 for every one of his hits that Collin could name. Collin, who's worked casinos for years knows his songs well, and named off 17 of them. Collin, with a bit less in his pocket took the same challenge in a smaller amount of a quarter for every one of his hits that Kenny could name.
Vince Gill performed at the Opry on the 23rd and 24th, and he sang "When I Call Your Name" for his girlfriend. If you're wondering who this could be, it's 17-year-old Terra Murrell, a cancer victim who hails from Brookport, Ill. She was visiting backstage, and on Saturday, Vince had her join him in singing "Would You Kindly Keep It Country."
Reba McEntire's latest single, "Forever Love" has hit #1 on the R&R charts. This brings Reba's total of #1 songs to 30!
Billy Ray Cyrus looks back on the early years of his career with mixed feelings. He recalls the 1992 June Jam like it was yesterday. He was taken in a helicopter to the stage and he remembers the site of all those people, which he claims was more than he'd ever seen in one place before. Today, he's on the verge of a comeback, with his sixth album, Shot Full of Love which comes out on November 3rd.
Shania Twain's Come On Over album has surpassed the $6 million in sales in the U.S., and over $7 million worldwide. Her label expects that due to the album being available through record clubs, she should reach the $10 million mark by next February.
Bryan White and girlfriend, Erika Page are hot and heavy, and Bryan claims she's the one he wants to spend his life with, but don't go out buying wedding presents just yet. Bryan also claims, "but nothing's happening like that." Bryan's also been named the grand marshall at this year's Nashville Christmas parade on December 13th.
Talk about longevity. Country group, Sawyer Brown recently performed their 3000th show in Salt Lake City, UT. Way to go guys!
David Lee Murphy is holding a contest on his website for Halloween. People have to send in photos of themselves dressed in their most outrageous costume. Winners will receive cash prizes , free memberships to Davids fan club, David CD's and more. Contest is run through November 15th.
Bryan White will perform in the first ever Bryan White Nashville Howl-o-ween. In the afternoon there will be a costume contest for the kids, then a concert. Then in the evening Bryan will perform again. The concerts are free, but it's asked that people bring a non-perishible food item for Nashville's Second Harvest Food Bank.
The Billboard Music Awards will originate from the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas on December 7th. Several stars have been signed up to perform. Among them will be Shania Twain. Additional performers will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
Passengers flying the "friendly skies" of United Airlines will be able to preview 8 songs from Garth's upcoming Double Live album, from November 1st through November 16th. Capitol Nashville says this is the largest pre-release in music history.
Ashley Foos raced her horse, Mr. Champ at the Sandusky County Fair, as she had many years before. Only, this year shortly after her horse's last race, he suddenly died. Ashley was heartbroken. When country star, Sammy Kershaw heard about this, he invited her and her family to his farm outside Nashville, so he could give her one of his horses. Ashley, 14, had Mr. Champ a long time and he was a barrel horse. Sammy gave Ashley a new barrel horse named BeeBee. |
