Alan Jackson Greatest Hits II

Alan Jackson Greatest Hits II

We have a new No. 1 song this week. Gary Allan's "Tough Little Boys," becomes his second No. 1 song of his career. There's a major logjam at the top of the charts with four of the five songs in the Top 5 having bullets, so it makes it tough to guess which song will be No. 1 next week. Gary's song has a bullet, and looks promising to hold on for a second week, however Keith Urban's "Who Wouldn't Wanna Be Me," which is holding onto the runner-up spot is sure to be a strong contender as well. That said Martina's "This One's for the Girls" also has a bullet at No. 3, as does Toby Keith with "I Love This Bar." The No. 5 song is Tim's "Real Good Man." Just looking at past movement, I would say if any song is going to take No. 1 away from Gary Allan, it would be Toby, as his song is just screaming up the charts. It's only been out for 9 weeks, and is already a Top 5 song, having moved 4 spots last week. That would be my guess for next week's No. 1, but we'll see.

Other songs that are really making some major moves up the chart are Lonestar's "Walking In Memphis," which moves up four spots to No. 18 this week. Brooks & Dunn continue to move up in big chunks with their latest, "You Can't Take The Honky Tonk Out Of The Girl," which moves from No. 25 to No. 21. Another song moving up four spots is Brad Paisley's "Little Moments," which is the second single from Mud on the Tires. Shania's "She's Not Just a Pretty Face" moves seven spots to No. 35 this week. This is just the third week that song has been on the charts. Joe Nichols' "Cool to be a Fool" moves four spots to No. 40. Billy Dean, a familiar name on the charts in the early 90s is back with "I'm in Love With You" which moves up four spots to No. 53.

New songs this week include Kenny Chesney's "There Goes My Life" debuting at No. 46. The song is the first single from his upcoming studio album, due out next year. Dierks Bentley comes in at No. 55 with "My Last Name" which is the follow-up to his recent No. 1 song, "What Was I Thinkin'."

On the album side of things, Alan Jackson moves back up into the top spot with [link url>http://erclk.about.com/?zi=1/Nd%5d]Greatest Hits, Vol II[/link]. Martina moves down one spot to No. 2 with Martina. Coming in at No. 3 is Gary Allan with See If I Care. At No. 4 is Johnny Cash's American IV: The Man Comes Around. Then, at No. 5 is Shania's Up.

New albums this week are Alabama's Alabama: The American Farewell Tour at No. 6. Kenny Chesney's All I Want For Christmas is a Real Good Tan debuts at No. 20, and Robert Earl Keen's [link url=http://erclk.about.com/?zi=1/RSo]Farm Fresh Onions[/link] comes in at No. 24.

NOTE: All chart rankings are based on the song or album's position on the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart or Billboard Country Albums Chart for October 25, 2003.
