We have a new No. 1 single this week with Keith Urban's "Who Wouldn't Wanna Be Me." While the song still has a bullet, so does the No. 2 song, Toby Keith's "I Love This Bar." With the momentum Toby is building surrounding his album release next week, I'd think it's a safe bet the "big dog" will take over the top spot next week. Gary Allan's "Tough Little Boys" drops to No. 3, with Rascal Flatts "I Melt" coming in at No. 4 and Martina McBride's "This One's for the Girls" rounding out the Top 5. While I'm sure that Rascal Flatts is hoping for a No. 1, I think that Toby will camp out at the top for a few weeks, and we'll have to wait and see if "I Melt" can hang on for a few weeks to take over the No. 1 spot. Another interesting entry in the Top 10 is Pat Green's "Wave On Wave," which has a bullet at No. 6 and looks to jump into the Top 5 next week. This is Pat's highest charting single yet, and it will be interesting to see how much higher it will go.
There are several new songs that are making some real headway on the charts. Tim McGraw's new song "Watch The Wind Blow By" moves up nine spots in its second week on the chart, from No. 48 to No. 39. Sheryl Crow's "The First Cut Is The Deepest" moves up seven spots, also in its second week, from No. 57 to No. 50. Dierks Bentley with "My Last Name" in his third week, moves up seven spots as well, from No. 58 to No. 51. Kenny Chesney, in his third week moves up seven spots from No. 28 to No. 21, with "There Goes My Life." Clint Black's "Spend My Time" in its second week, moves up five spots from No. 43 to No. 38. Buddy Jewell in his second week, moves up five spots from No. 47 to No. 42. New duo Blue County moves up five spots from No. 40 to No. 35 in their fourth week on the chart, with "Good Little Girls."
New songs on the chart this week include "Remember When" from Alan Jackson, which debuts at No. 45. Patty Loveless releases the title cut from her album, "On Your Way Home," which debuts at No. 58. Rodney Crowell debuts at No. 60 with "Earthbound."
On the album side of things, once more Alan Jackson's [link url>http://erclk.about.com/?zi=1/Nd%5d]Greatest Hits, Vol II[/link] continues to sit in the top spot. Martina McBride remains at No. 2 with her album Martina. Moving up a spot Shania Twain comes in at No. 3 with Up. Toby Keith takes No. 4 with Unleashed, and Mark Wills debuts at No. 5 with And The Crowd Goes Wild.
The only other new album this week is Delbert McClinton's Delbert McClinton Live which debuts at No. 44.
NOTE: All chart rankings are based on the song or album's position on the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart or Billboard Country Albums Chart for November 8, 2003.
