Shock 'n Y'all - Toby Keith

This week Toby Keith tops not only the country singles chart for a second week with "I Love This Bar," and takes over the top of the album charts with Shock'n Y'All which sold 585,000 copies. The No. 2 single this week is Rascal Flatt's "I Melt" with a bullet, while Keith Urban's former No. 1 "Who Wouldn't Wanna Be Me" falls to No. 3. No. 4 is held by Pat Green's "Wave On Wave" which also has a bullet, as does the No. 5 song, "Cowboy's Like Us" from George Strait. Who will be No. 1 next week? I'd go with Rascal Flatts, however, Toby's song still has a bullet, so it may just hold onto the top for a third week. We shall see.

It seems there are fewer songs this week making large moves up the charts. Kenny Chesney's "There Goes My Life" moves up six spots from No. 15 to No. 9. Clint Black's "Spend My Time" moves up five spots from No. 40 to No. 35. Tim McGraw's "Watch the Wind Blow By" also moved up five spots from No. 33 to No. 28. Only two songs moved up four spots. The first is Brooks & Dunn with "You Can't Take The Honky Tonk Out Of The Girl" moving from No. 14 to No. 10, and the second Tracy Lawrence with "Paint Me a Birmingham" which moves up from No. 50 to No. 46.

New songs this week include Gary Allan's "Songs About Rain" which debuts at No. 51. Toby Keith's "American Solder" which is an album cut debuts at No. 53, while Martina's new single "In My Daughter's Eyes" debuts at No. 54. Darryl Worley's latest, "I Will Hold My Ground" debuts at No. 58, while Roxie Dean's "Everyday Girl" debuts at No. 60.

Other than Toby's big album debuting at the top spot we have Alan Jackson's [link url>http://erclk.about.com/?zi=1/Nd%5d]Greatest Hits, Vol II[/link] holding on to the No. 2 spot. Martina remains at No. 3 with Martina and Toby takes the No. 4 spot with his Unleashed album. Coming in at No. 5 is Shania with Up.

Other new debuts this week on the album chart are Elvis: Christmas Peace debuting at No. 42. Bill Gaither with A Gospel Bluegrass Homecoming Volume One debuts at No. 47. Andy Griffith's The Christmas Guest: Stories and Songs of Christmas debuts at No. 52. Bill Gaither with A Gospel Bluegrass Homecoming Volume Two debuts at No. 58. Classic Country: Christmas debuts at No. 65. Mary Chapin Carpenter's Essential Mary Chapin Carpenter debuts at No. 70.

NOTE: All chart rankings are based on the song or album's position on the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart or Billboard Country Albums Chart for November 22, 2003.
