Toby Keith remains on top of both the Country Singles Chart with "I Love This Bar" and Country Albums Chart with Shock'n Y'All for a fourth straight week. I'd say it's a safe bet that he will remain on top with his album through the end of the year, however his single still has no bullet, yet it's remained at No. 1 before without a bullet, so who's to say if it will keep for another week. Round out the Top 5 are George Strait with "Cowboy's Like Us" which moves up two spots to the runner-up spot. The song has a bullet and a good chance at taking over the top unless Toby holds on. At No. 3 is Rascal Flatts with "I Melt" with has again lost its bullet and is probably on its way down the charts now, although it did come back once, so we will see. At No. 4 is Kenny Chesney's "There Goes My Life," which makes it to the Top 5 in just 8 weeks on the chart. At No. 5 is Montgomery Gentry's "Hell Yeah" which has lost its bullet, so will most likely be heading down next week.
Songs really making some positive movement are: Carolyn Dawn Johnson's "Simple Life" is screaming up the charts, moving from No. 53 to No. 41. Mark Wills' "That's a Woman," moves from No. 52 to No. 47. Toby Keith's "American Soldier" moves from No. 37 to No. 32. Jimmy Wayne's "I Love You This Much" also moves up 5 spots from No. 27 to No. 22.
Brand new on the charts this week are Kenny Chesney's title cut from his Christmas album, "All I Want For Christmas Is A Real Good Tan," which debuts at No. 53. Clay Walker debuts at No. 55 with "I Can't Sleep." Shania Twain and Alison Krauss' song from the Dolly Tribute album, "Coat of Many Colors" debuts at No. 57, and lastly LeAnn Rimes "This Love" debuts at No. 58.
On the album charts, Alan Jackson remains at No. 3 with
On the album side of things, Alan Jackson's Greatest Hits, Vol II continues to hold onto the No. 2 spot. The Dixie Chicks Top of the World Live CD debuted last week at No. 16, and this week moves up to No. 3. Kenny Chesney's Christmas album, All I Want For Christmas Is A Real Good Tan comes in at No. 4 with LeAnn Rimes Greatest Hits pulls in at No. 5.
New albums this week are Johnny Cash's box set Cash Unearthed debuts at No. 33, and his Christmas album Christmas With Johnny Cash debuts at No. 62.
NOTE: All chart rankings are based on the song or album's position on the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart or Billboard Country Albums Chart for December 13, 2003.
