Buddy Jewell's deep-fried hit single, "Sweet Southern Comfort," has been named as an official Song of the South in the May-June 2004 issue of Y'all Magazine.
The latest issue of Y'all, the Magazine of Southern People - [on newsstands April 27th] - includes an exclusive interview with Jewell, an Arkansas native who captured 2003's USA Network Nashville Star contest and landed a record deal with Sony Music Nashville. RCA's multi-platinum singer and songwriter, SARA EVANS, graces the cover of the upcoming Mother's Day issue of American Profile. The CMT Flame Worthy Female Video nominee chatted with entertainment editor Beverly Keel at her home near Nashville and shared stories about being a working mother on a tour bus. GAC To Telecast 14th Annual City Of Hope Celebrity Softball Challenge
Great American Country®, Inc. has signed on to telecast the 14th Annual City of Hope Celebrity Softball Challenge. The game, which brings country musics hottest stars together for an afternoon of softball, pranks and fun, will be held on Thursday, June 10th at 1pm at Nashvilles Greer Stadium. Airdates for the broadcast will be announced soon.
This years Opry Live and After MidNite teams will feature Vince Gill, Joe Nichols, Rebecca Lynn Howard, Josh Turner, Brad Paisley, Julie Roberts, Chris Cagle, Blake Shelton, Gretchen Wilson, Amy Dalley, Lonestars Dean Sams, Scotty Emerick, Jeff Bates, Jimmy Wayne, Andy Griggs, Jamie ONeal, Mark Wills, Billy Dean, Chely Wright, Blue County, Rodney Atkins, Big and Rich, Tennessee Titan Drew Bennett, Nashville Predator Tomas Vokoun, and a host of other music and athletic celebrities. Trace Adkins and Buddy Jewell will act as this years team coaches. Date Announced for Martina McBride Celebrity Auction
The date has been set for "The Celebrity Auction with Martina McBride." On Saturday, June 12th, during the 2004 CMA Music Festival/ Fan Fair, Martina McBride will host her annual auction to raise funds for the YW of Middle Tennessee and their domestic violence programs. "The Celebrity Auction with Martina McBride" offers a chance for country music fans to bid on one-of-a-kind autographed celebrity items with all proceeds going to the YW. Joining Martina in person will be Capitol recording artist Jamie O'Neal, Arista recording artist Brad Paisley and RCA recording artist Andy Griggs. The auction will take place at the Hall of Fame Park located on the plaza behind the Hilton Hotel and just off Broadway in between 5th and 6th Avenues.
