Seems like Trace and Buddy have the same wardrobe... at least that particular night. Trace also dressed in Black duster, black jeans, light blue shirt, and black hat. He wore his hair down, as opposed to in a ponytail, as he usually does.
Trace opened the show with "Ain't No Thinkin' Thing," then went into "Big Time." He thanked everyone for coming out to the show, and said that a few days ago he'd gotten lots of cards and letters since he had a birthday, and thanked everyone that might have sent something. He also mentioned he was going to be on an upcoming episode of "Yes Dear" along with Travis Tritt. The show would air on February 23rd on CBS.
The next song, Trace dedicated to "Trace's Tramps" (saying that was what they called themselves), and he sang "The Rest of Mine."
The audience was really into the show and several times people got on their feet to clap and sing along with the songs. Trace's sexy dancing really got the ladies to screaming, as did his real low notes on some of his songs.
Trace said he had a really good year in 2003, having released two albums, his Greatest Hits album and Comin' On Strong. He said that his Greatest Hits had gone Gold already and he was really thankful for that. The next two songs were from his new album, the title track, and "I'd Sure Hate To Break Down Here."
After singing "I'm Tryin'," Trace got a standing ovation, as his fans know of his problems with alcohol and going into a rehab center to straighten that out.
Trace said that he got lots of letters from people on the next song, and when he first recorded it, it took him about 30 tries to get it right. The song was "Then They Do."
More screaming ensued as Trace removed his jacket and launched into "Chrome. He then said there are a couple more songs from the new album that are similar to "Chrome" and he sang "Rough and Ready." Then, another song from the new album "One of Those Nights."
At that Trace said "I got one more song and you know what that is." Of course it was "Hot Mama." After this he left the stage, but returned to do an encore. He said that he had done a show at this venue the previous November and it was the last show he'd done drunk. To this, he got some more applause and another standing ovation from the appreciative audience. His encore was a song called "Someone's Got to Do It."
I really enjoyed Trace's show, as I did the previous time. He really has a great connection with the audience. Don't think about it, go see him. You'll love the show if you enjoy his music.
