After a 45-minute break, Mark Wills hit the stage with "Lovin' Every Minute." Following that upbeat tune, he sang another fast-paced song, "I Wanna Know." After these two songs, Mark thanked everyone for coming and mentioned that he's had several Top 5 songs in his career, and some No. 1 songs, including his latest, "19 Somethin'," which stayed at the top for 7 weeks. He asked if we heard it, and when everyone shouted that they did, he kidded, "Oh good, then I don't need to play it." From there he said he would go back to his first song, in 1996, and played "Jacob's Ladder," thanking everyone for helping to make that his first Top 5 song.
Mark has several hits over the years, and has recently released a "Greatest Hits" album, which is where his latest two singles came from. He sang all his hits, including his ballads, which he's so famous for. After singing "I Do (Cherish You,)" people were screaming. Mark teased, "Why are ya screaming? You're supposed to be hugging and kissing after that."
A couple people shouted our requests, one of which was "When I Fall." Mark said he doesn't play that one anymore, and the people said he sang it for them at the Sonoma County Fair. He then replied that he is getting old and he doesn't remember them all.
From there, Mark said, "There are two types of people that come to concerts. First is the real country music fan, and the second is the person that is only there because their husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, or whoever made them come to the show." Then, he asked how many were real country music fans, which most people yelled and clapped for, and then he asked how many were there because their boyfriend, girlfriend, etc. made them come to the show.
This girl in the front table right in front of Mark must have said that she was one, cuz Mark started picking on her. He asked her if she liked country music at all, and I guess she said she didn't. So, he started teasing her, saying he can see her going down the road in her car singing "I Want It That Way." He sang the song and the band started playing and I thought he was going to sing the whole thing, but he didn't. Too bad, cuz it sounded good! :D Then, he said he had a test for her, and he would play some songs and she had to guess who sang them. He then played the intro for "Friends in Low Places," and she didn't know it. Her boyfriend tried to give her the answer, but Mark said, "Hey, no giving her the answers!" Then, he played the intro to "The Thunder Rolls," and made some thunder sounds with his voice, but she didn't know that either. He then said those were two *HUGE* songs by Garth Brooks. Then, he said, "Well, you're gonna hate the next 9 minutes, then." This lead into a story about him meeting someone that he's always idolized, and that he got to meet recently. He said he was shocked that this person knew his songs, and they talked for a while and played some together. The person was Ronnie Milsap. Mark then sang a medley of three of Ronnie's biggest hits.
