Joe Diffie

Shelly Fabian

Joe started out his show with "Third Rock From The Sun," and then went into "C-O-U-N-T-R-Y." The next song he dedicated to all the women -- "So Help Me Girl," and then one for the men -- "Pickup Man."

Next, was "In Another World," and then he dedicated the next song, "Ships That Don't Come In" to all of our men and women in the military. During this song Tracy Lawrence came on the stage carrying a flag. You can see a couple pictures of this in Joe's Slideshow at the link to the right.

Joe asked if anyone liked impressions, and then he went to the rear of the stage and you could see him putting something on his face. When he turned around, it was a grey beard. Two of the band members also put on the beards and Joe started playing "A Man of Constant Sorrow," and the whole place laughed so hard. He and his two band members danced around and sang in one mic just like they did in the movie. It was hilarious.

He continued his impressions with one of George Jones' "He Stopped Loving Her Today," and Mark Chesnutt came out, as did Tracy Lawrence, and Mark sang the chorus. Next Joe sang Hank Jr's "Country Boy Can Survive." Tracy and Mark helped him on this one. Then, Joe asked if we wanted to hear Mark do in impression. Everyone cheered, so he told Mark to do Boy George. Mark said, "He's gay... that's my impression." Joe then said Elton John, and Mark gave him a funny look, and then started singing "Your Song." Then, they said Tracy needs to do an impression, and Tracy sang some of Charlie Daniels'"Devil Went Down To Georgia," moving his hands like he played the fiddle, and then they hand the fiddle player in the band come out and play the fiddle solo. (For fans of the group "Yankee Grey," you might recognize the fiddler as Joe Caverlee from that group.)

Next Joe started to sing "Prop Me Up Beside The Jukebox," but he sang it in Willie Nelson's voice. When he was done, he said how was that? Mark said "Tom Jones?" From there Mark and Tracy left and Joe finished the song in his normal voice.

The final song in Joe's set was "John Deere Green. With that, Mark returned to the stage and it was time for his part of the show.
