How To Make a Country Music Video

From Shelly Fabian, for About.com

Chances are you don't have a record deal with a major, or even independent record label, but you can still make your own country music video!
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 60 minutes

Here's How:

  1. First off, if you can actually sing, that's a plus, otherwise you can go the Milli Vanilli route. Who will know?
  2. Most people don't have thousands of dollars for expensive video equipment, so dig out that old 8mm or VHS video camera.
  3. Find a desert... any desert will do.
  4. If you don't have supermodel looks, hire a stand-in that does.
  5. Set out your wardrobe (or the stand-in's wardrobe) which will consist of a slinky gown, or anything that clings to the body.
  6. Set up your camera on a tripod, and change into your slinky outfit (or have your stand-in change into her wardrobe now.)
  7. Never acted before? No problem.. all ya gotta do is give a come-hither look, and move your arms around as you sing (or mouth the words to) your song.
  8. If you are using a stand-in, make sure she gives her best sexy look while she writhes around to the music, and lip-synchs to your song.
  9. Make sure to set up the tape player near the microphone so that the sound is heard while you tape.
  10. Playback the tape, and view your masterpiece!

Tips:

  1. Don't forget to add some props in your video, such as more slinky material to drape around your (or your stand-in's) body.
  2. Have fun! Hey, you didn't really think CMT was going to air that, did you?
