Next up is Brad Cotter, who sings "Let Your Love Flow."

Billy: Brad, you nailed it. I'll tell you this, there is no way I'd ever vote against you. You nailed it.
Tracy: Brad, you're comfortable on stage. You enjoy yourself. You're a good solid performer.
Brad: Are you brown nosing us by playing a brother duo song? That was a good job. You know Brad, we've played Madison Square Garden and a crappy bar in the same week, and you just have to be unaffected by your surroundings. You seem very cool. Very professional. You don't really seem to know what's going on. And I love that about you.
Brett: You're like the Dean Martin of country. I dig ya.

My Thoughts: I really think Brad exudes a relaxed stage presence, and he looks like he belongs up on stage. His vocals are really strong, and I think he's in the Top 3 for me.

Marty Slayton is up next and she sings "Let Me Let Go."

Tracy: Good job, Marty. You know, I know why you're such an in-demand background singer, cuz you really can sing well. I still wanna see you be the front person. I want you to be the star. I still need a little more personality from you. Don't be afraid to show it.
Billy: Marty, I believe that you have the right look. You look like a star. You were off a little bit early on. And you started out too low, but you made it up in the end. I think that we'll definitely hear better from you in the future.
Brett: You know what, Marty. There will never be another Faith Hill, but you're definitely one of the classic women of country. I'm with you. Great voice, and great performance.

My Thoughts: I like Marty and think she's very classy. She never dresses slutty, but always looks really good. I enjoy her singing but it seems to be kind of spotty where she will have parts of a song where she just does real well and other parts where she's kind of bland. She needs to even out her performance, and maybe show some more personality. Maybe move around more or something.

Nancy O'Dell is now with Joe Nichols in the audience. Nancy asks him "Do you have to have your heart broke to make it in country music?"
Joe: I think so, I think the worse it hurts the better off you are. It's good to have it stomped on a couple of times. It makes for a good country song and a singer.
Nancy: What do you think about the great talent we have here tonight?
Joe: It's wonderful. There's a lot of talent out here tonight. I'm pretty impressed. This is a great show.

Jennifer Hicks is the next up, and she sings "Rose Garden."

Brad: Jenn, I'm a fan of yours. I love your vibe. You're like Dolly Parton meets Deana Carter to me. And I love them both. That wasn't my favorite thing that you've done. I don't know if it was the song selection, or just.. it wasn't. I'm a fan, it just wasn't my favorite thing.
Billy: I would just say this. I think that you have got great range, I don't think you really showed it there. And I hope that next week you'll show a little more what you can do vocally.
Tracy: Listen, I actually think that was a good song for you. I think you choose good material for yourself, but. But I'd like to see you step it up. Again, what I said in the first place. This is not just about competing against yourselves, it's about competing with all the superstars out there. I need to see that you can do that.

My Thoughts: I really enjoyed Jennifer's performance tonight. I didn't much care for her last week. Like Brad Warren, I think she has that soft voice like a Deana Carter, and like Tracy, I think she needs to step it up and be a bit more powerful, cuz everything she sings is kind of soft and quiet.

George Canyon is next, and he sings "The Long Goodbye."

Tracy: Hey George. I see a pattern here. George Jones, George Strait, George Canyon. I don't have to say anything thing else.
Brett: George I keep waiting every week. I kinda thought you might be the generic cowboy, at first, but you keep knocking it out of the park every week. I love it.
Brad: And you're Canadian, so I know you'll sign for 60 cents on the dollar.
Billy: George, I'll tell you this. I told Joe Nichols that his album was one of the favorites since No Fences for me, and I really believe that you could be along those lines.

My Thoughts: I've changed favorites since the first week of the show and George is now the one I think will take the Nashville Star 2 crown. He's polished and his vocals are great. Anyone that can sing a Brooks & Dunn song is competing vocally with the great job that Ronnie Dunn does, and George was definitely up to the task. While I don't think he's quite as strong as Buddy Jewell, he's got the best voice of all the contestants, in my opinion.
