Guide Review - Live - Dixie Chicks
The year 2003 was an interesting one for the Dixie Chicks. They saw their tour dates sell out in record time. Sales of "Home" soared to over 6 million. But there were the down times as well, with the fallout after Natalie's remark about the President. Fans boycotted the Chicks music and radio stations refused to play their songs.But, the tour went on as planned, with heightened security, and became one of the best country tours of the year.
This DVD shows scenes from many of the tour stops. No credit is given to any one song as the scenes constantly change. The music was not edited in the studio, but is played live as it was heard at the show.
I was fortunate enough to have been able to catch the tour, and for me, this is a wonderful memory of the fantastic show these three women and their many musicians put on. For those that didn't see the show this year, this will be something you can cherish and view over and over until the Chicks tour again.
Whether or not you agree with anything they've said, this is about the music. From the first note to the last, it's a quality production.
As a bonus, the video for "Top of the World" is included as well as the concert.
