Guide Review - Johnny Cash - 'Essential Johnny Cash'
This is one of the releases in celebration of Johnny's 70th birthday. It is the first time that four decades worth of recordings are included in one package. There are 36 songs from Sun, Columbia and Mercury recordings, and it is pure pleasure to sit and listen to each and every one of them.There are lots of hits packages of Cash music, but this is probably the most comprehensive I've seen. The music starts off with "Hey Porter" and closes with "The Wanderer."
The group U2 and even Boy Dylan sing with Johnny on two different songs, and that is a testament to how Johnny easily crossed the different genres of music. It wouldn't be complete without several duets with June, and they are there.
