Guide Review - From There To Here - Greatest Hits - Lonestar
Seven years is a long time to go before having a Greatest Hits CD. Most artists nowadays seem to produce one within four or five years, however they're usually just 10 tracks. We definitely benefited from Lonestar waiting this long as this release has a total of 17 tracks, three of which are brand new.
Of the 13 previously released tracks, 12 were Top 10 songs, including 8 No. 1 tunes. The CD is set up in chronological order with three songs from their self-titled debut, "Tequila Talkin'" (8), "No News" their first No. 1, and "Runnin' Away With My Heart" (8). From "Crazy Nights" is "Come Cryin' To Me," (1) "You Walked In" (12), and "Everything's Changed" (2). From "Lonely Grill" is the smash hit "Amazed" (1), "Smile" (1), and "What About Now" (1). From "I'm Already There" is the touching title track (1), "With Me" (10), and "Not A Day Goes By" (3).
The song "I'm Already There" is recorded twice on the album. The last time is a bonus track which is the (Message From Home) version of the song. It includes messages from families to their loved ones fighting overseas, and they're sure to bring a tear to your eye. I know they did to me.
Longtime fans and new fans alike will enjoy this compilation of music from one of today's most popular country bands.
