Guide Review - Pinmonkey - Pinmonkey
Pinmonkey spashed on the Nashville club scene not long ago & quickly amassed a loyal following. That following lead to some word-of-mouth popularity, which in turn lead to a "bidding war" by Nashville's major labels to sign the band. While they signed with BNA, they released "Speak No Evil" to rave reviews. The only holdover from "Speak No Evil" is the Gwil Owen-penned masterpiece "Augusta." The other 10 tracks are a wonderful mix of bluegrass meets country. There's also four cover songs on this album; "Fly," "Stay With Us," "Falling Out Of Love With Me," and "I Drove All Night."
The best of the rest includes "Falling Down" and "Barbed Wire and Roses." Pinmonkey has created a fine album that should be heard by all fans of country music.
