Guide Review - Highwayman - Johnny, Willie, Waylon & Kris

Take four of the most important figures in country music and combine them: Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson. History. In 1985, when country music was down so far it could hardly be heard, these four blazed tradition anew, as they had always done, simply by making great country music.

The amazing title track, "Highwayman," proved to be not only their first big single, but also eventually became their moniker.

The Highwaymen would record two more albums, but this one remains their proud, defiant stand against the coming "young country" which would eventually remove them from the spotlight. It remains an incredible album from four amazing, awe-inspiring men.
