Guide Review - Blue County - Blue County

Blue Country seemingly appeared out of nowhere in the fall of 2003 with their single “Good Little Girls.” Currently still rising up the Country singles chart (at 16) with the single, Blue County is a duo featuring former gospel singer Aaron Benward (off Aaron & Jeoffrey, who’s his father) and Scott Reeves, an actor best known for his work on “The Young And The Restless.” Together, the duo makes an appealing brand of country music that is sure to place the duo in the same field as Montgomery Gentry and Brooks & Dunn.

After the fun “Good Little Girls” leads off the album, the catchy “That Summer Song” tells an up tempo story of how certain songs tend to be imprinted with certain memories in our minds. With an acoustic intro, “Sunday Driver” is a bluegrass tinged track telling a story of a guy so in love that he takes his time getting to where he’s going. Jon Randall co-wrote “Sounds Like Home” with Aaron and it’s a beautiful song with romantic lyrics like “your voice sounds like home to me.” “Ride On” is touching ballad while the poignant “Walk On Water” ends the CD with a song that returns Aaron to his gospel roots.

With 12 expertly produced tracks, Blue County has a whopper of a debut album on their hands. The Top 10 bound debut single isn’t the only hit on the record. Virtually every track has a shot at radio airplay. Those looking for a fun, diverse album should check Blue County’s self-titled debut out.
