Guide Review - High Lonesome, and Blue - Del McCoury Band
Del's band includes himself on guitar, his son Ron on mandolin, his son Rob on banjo, Mike Bub on bass and Jason Carter on fiddle. Together these five men are a force to be reckoned with and this CD is but a small sample of their talent. The songs are a sampling from earlier albums that Del McCoury has done. The liner notes include 'stories behind the song' and give an insight to how and why Del picked them to record.
From the starting song of "Road of Love" to the closing "Don't Stop the Music" you will get nothing but pure bluegrass music. The instrumentals make you appreciate the talent behind the notes. The CD would be a treasured and much listened to addition to any bluegrass collection.
