Guide Review - Tryin' To Get There - David Lee Murphy
I really enjoyed this album. Didn't know if I was going to or not, because I hadn't heard to much from this artist in the past. The songs were written really well, lots of fun lyrics in some of them, like "Ghost In the Jukebox" He talks about some oldies that have been long gone like Charlie Rich, Hank, Elvis coming out after everyone is gone. This one is I think my favorite.Another favorite is "Mama's Last" it has a fun story to the song about him being Mama's last and Mama thinking she raised him differently than the others in his family. Talks about not being perfect and making mistakes and all. Reminds me of a song that someone like Marty Stuart would do. It has that kind of sound.
"LOCO" is a very fun song, about thinking about being on vacation forgetting about work with tiki torches and hula girls on shot glasses living on Key West time. Has an up beat tune and I love the line that says: I might be a little bit Loco baby but a little bit crazy is alright!
"I like it Already" made me want to get up off my chair and dance. Great two steppin' song. A line in it that says: "I think I'm in love and I like it already". This is a good song that talks about him driving in his car and his girl slides across the seat and rolls down the window and cranks up the radio. You'll want to do the same, crank up the radio when you hear the beat and all on this song. My husband heard it and doesn't even like country music and he really liked this one.
