Guide Review - Home On The Range Soundtrack - Various Artists
To put you into the mood of the album, "(You Ain't) Home On The Range" opens up setting the scene of the movie before k.d. Lang beautifully sings "Little Patch of Heaven." "Every which way buttercups sway" is one of the ways the beauty of the west is described & once you visit you'll never want to go back.
"Yodel-Adle-Eedle-Idle-Oo" is performed with Randy Quaid as Slim but the actual yodeling is done by Randy Erwin, Kerry Christenson, & others but unless you knew that fact you wouldn't be able to tell. They may call him mean but the only cruel thing he does is yodel.
Bonnie Rait sings the ballad-like "Will The Sun Ever Shine Again," a rather sad song about a woman who wonders if the storm will ever go away so that the sun can grace the beautiful blue skies again. "Will the sun ever shine? Send me a sign - one little ray" she sings. Next is Tim McGraw singing "Wherever The Trail May Lead," one of the best tracks. The road ahead may seem like it is a long one but you can always count on him to get you to the destination in the best way possible. The Beau Sisters sing about feeling sad & how anytime you need a friend you can always count on them because that is how things are supposed to be in the upbeat "Anytime You Need A Friend."
