Guide Review - Keith Urban in the Ranch - Keith Urban & The Ranch
Capitol Records has re-released 'Keith Urban in The Ranch.' Keith teams with Peter Clarke and Jerry Flowers for a very well done musical project. It clearly shows the talent potential of Keith Urban even as part of a group. His voice shines and the instrumental backup is superb. The music is more of a country rock tempo, but even the hardcore country fans would have to appreciate the talent behind the guitar and banjo skills of Keith Urban. He can certainly keep up with some of the best country has to offer. The album itself is a mixture of up-tempo fun and soul-searching ballads. Songs such as "Walkin' The Country," "Homespun Love," "Freedom's Finally Mine" and "Hank Don't Fail Me Now" will have you moving to the rhythm. They guys show that they can sing a ballad as well as anyone with songs such as "Just Some Love," "My Last Name," "Desiree" and "Tangled Up In Love." There is "Some Days You Gotta Dance," (most recently covered by the Dixie Chicks) and a totally instrumental number, "Clutterbilly," that you couldn't possibly sit still through.
It is a great addition to any music collection. The more I listen to Keith Urban music, the more of a fan I become. He has plenty of talent, but never really seems to flaunt the fact it is there. It is just a natural part of him, and that is what the audience gets when they are exposed to his music.
