2. Tanya Tucker - Tanya (1991)

"Tanya" is the first album release in 5 years from country legend Tanya Tucker. It's the first release on her own label, Tuckertime Records. It was produced by fiancé and singer/songwriter Jerry Lassiter. He joins Tanya on several songs, & you can hear the chemistry the two of them have. Vince Gill also joins Tanya as a guest vocalist on a song.

3. Mary Chapin Carpenter - Come On, Come On (1992-93)

Most of the songs on "Come On Come On" were hits, and most were written (or co-written) by Carpenter, with the exception of Lucinda Williams' throaty "Passionate Kisses" and Mark Knopfler's "The Bug," proof positive that a great rock song CAN make a great country song in the hands of the right artist.

4. Pam Tillis - Sweetheart's Dance (1994)

When Pam Tillis sings, it's hard not to take notice of her. She has a voice that is so well-suited to her choice of songs, with a delivery so poignant, that it's almost impossible not to stop and listen. Her phrasing, her passion, the warmth of her voice, and her album "Sweetheart's Dance" showcases those talents beautifully.

5. Alison Krauss - Forget About It (1995)

The songs on this album are mellow, and something you'd definately like to kick back and relax with. Many of the songs have a sad feel to them, such as the Hugh Prestwood-penned song, "Ghost in This House," a cut that Shenandoah released some years back. Alison sings it with such feeling and the harmonies are wonderful!

6. Patty Loveless - When Fallen Angels Fly (1996)

Of the four singles released from this album, two of them were No. 1 hits, "Halfway Down" and "I Try To Think About Elvis." The other two top singles were "Here I Am" and "You Don't Even Know Who I Am." Every other track, along with the singles, are solid meat and potatoes country songs.

7. Trisha Yearwood - Songbook (1997-98)

When you hear the name, Trisha Yearwood, you think of the amazing sound and vocal clarity that she has in each and every one of her songs. The talent is unmistakable and that is exactly why she has such a wonderful collection of songs for her "Songbook: A Collection of Hits" album.

8. Martina McBride - Evolution (1998, 2002)

From this album there were 6 singles released: "Still Holding On," a duet with Clint Black, "A Broken Wing," an empowering song about having a strong sense of self, "Valentine," a beautiful duet with pianist Jim Brickman; "Happy Girl," "Wrong Again," and "Whatever You Say," a tune that shows off Martina's vocal prowess.

9. Faith Hill - Breathe (2000)

To date, this is Faith's most successful album. With hits like the title track, "If My Heart Had Wings," "The Way You Love Me," and the duet with husband Tim McGraw, "Let's Make Love," this album has sold more than seven million copies.

10. Lee Ann Womack - I Hope You Dance (2001)

If you enjoy traditional music, but like a little contemporary flare, Lee Ann's album is a perfect match for you. From the soft ballads like "Why They Call It Falling," the mega-hit title cut, the in-your-face tune, "Does My Ring Burn Your Finger," and the wonderful cover of Don Williams' "Lord, I Hope This Day Is Good" this album is a sure fire winner.
