Garth Brooks Facts
Born On: February 7, 1962
Birthplace: Tulsa, Oklahoma
High School: Yukon High. He played four sports: football, basketball, baseball and track.
College: Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. Garth was an Advertising major. He attended on partial athletic scholarship (javelin). He played in bands and worked as a bouncer. Graduated: December 1984

Marital Status: Single - engaged to Trisha Yearwood
Children: Taylor Mayne Pearl -July 8, 1992
August Anna - May 3, 1994
Allie Colleen - July 28, 1996
Parents: Troyal Raymond Brooks and Colleen Carroll Brooks. Colleen Carroll recorded for Capitol Records in the 1950's and performed with Red Foley on the Ozark Jubilee.
Siblings: Jim, Jerry, Mike, Betsy (former Stillwater acoustic guitarist/ background vocalist) and Kelly (Tour Manager).
Early Performance: Garth was a big Fig Newton in a fourth grade talent show.
First Band: The Nyle, when Garth was 17.
Residence: A farm north of Nashville, in Goodlettsville, TN, that Garth calls "Some Day Valley."
Musical Influences: George Strait, George Jones, James Taylor, KISS, Don McLean, Queen, Dan Fogelberg, Merle Haggard, Boston, Kansas, Journey, Billy Joel.
Record Producer: Allen Reynolds.
Signed: Garth signed with Capitol Records in 1988, but has since parted ways with his label in 2005.
Band: Stillwater: Debbie Nims (electric guitar/background vocals); James Garver (lead guitar/background vocals); Steve McClure (steel and electric guitar); Mike Palmer (percussion); Dave Gant (keyboards); Mark Greenwood (bass guitar/background vocals); Jimmy Mattingly (fiddle).
Guest Recordings: Garth has sung on albums by Pat Alger, Helen Darling, Stephanie Davis, George Jones, a KISS tribute LP, Chris LeDoux, Martina McBride, Suzy Bogguss, Eddie Murphy, Victoria Shaw, Trisha Yearwood, and Asleep At The Wheel's Tribute to Bob Wills & The Texas Playboys.

Garth released "The Garth Brooks Collection" as a promotional CD with McDonalds on September 2, 1994. The CD is no longer available, unless you can find another collector willing to part with it.

"Zooming" was a free CD that came with "The Hits" As with "The Garth Brooks Collection," you can only find "Zooming" through other collectors. The CD contained small samples of all the songs that Garth had recorded at that time along with some narrative from Garth himself.
