There was about a 20 minute break, and then the Chicks came out. You could just feel the energy, and they all looked so good!
I did write down the songs they sang, so here goes:
Some comments.. I really love "Ready To Run," and can't wait for their next CD to come out. During "There's Your Trouble" they had these big pink "chick-shaped" wind socks that were blowing up behind them as they sang the song. What I mean by "chick-shaped" is they had girls faces and blond hair, and the arms were attached to where their hips would be. Really cute!
There was a guy on the side rows, about 4-5 rows back that had Emily wear his hat during one of the songs. Then she tossed it back to him, and he was all ecstatic. Later, when Natalie was announcing "Wide Open Spaces" the guy was motioning to Emily that he wanted her to wear the hat again, and she was shaking her head "no." And he tossed it up anyway and she left it on the stage. Then someone in the front row on the side picked up the hat and tossed it closer to her. So, she picked it up, and I guess he had somehow implied that he wanted her to sweat on it or something, so she rubbed the hat on her head and her hip and leg, then tossed it back. Just as she was doing that, Natalie noticed what was going on since people were laughing about this and Emily was laughing and I think a bit embarrassed too. So, Natalie said "I'm here trying to announce "Wide Open Spaces" and you're back there rubbing your hat." Then Emily was DEFINITELY embarrassed. Poor thing. :D
The Chicks were incredible. So talented and full of energy. Loved them when I saw them at George Strait's Festival and even more from the second row.
It took about 30 minutes for the stagehands to roll up the Dixie Chicks rug, and dismantle their stage and set up Tim McGraw's stage. People were getting antsy. Finally, the moment arrived.
