(Song of the Year)

The Song of the Year nominees are:

  • "Amazed" - Marv Green, Aimee Mayo and Chris Lindsey
  • "Breathe" - Holly Lamar and Stephanie Bentley
  • "He Didn't Have To Be" - Brad Paisley and Kelly Lovelace
  • "I Hope You Dance" - Mark D. Sanders and Tia Sillers
  • "Murder On Music Row" - Larry Cordell and Larry Shell

Who Do I Want To Win?

These are all great songs! I gotta go with my man, Brad Paisley, though, with "He Didn't Have To Be."

Who Will Win?

This will be a tough one. Amazed stayed at the top of the charts for a record 8 weeks, and that says a lot. Of course, you can't discount Faith Hill's Breathe, which held the top position for 6 weeks. Brad Paisley's He Didn't Have To Be is no slouch either, however it only topped the charts for one week. Then we come to Lee Ann Womack's I Hope You Dance, which is fresh in our minds, staying at the top for 5 weeks. The questionable entry would have to be Murder on Music Row. This song didn't break the Top 20, yet it's nominated here. Not sure why.

So, now the hard job of trying to make a prediction. Lonestar picked up awards for both Single of the Year and Song of the Year at the ACM's. I think that helps their cause here, plus the fact that they've had the longest stay at the top of these nominees. I'm gonna go with Amazed. But, I wouldn't be too suprised if Breathe took the prize either. It's a hard choice, but I'm sticking with Amazed.
