(Single of the Year)

The Single of the Year nominees are:

  • "Breathe"- Faith Hill (Byron Gallimore and Faith Hill)
  • "Buy Me A Rose" - Kenny Rogers (Kenny Rogers, Brent Maher and Jim McKell)
  • "He Didn't Have To Be" - Brad Paisley (Frank Rogers)
  • "How Do You Like Me Now?!" - Toby Keith (James Stroud and Toby Keith)
  • "I Hope You Dance" - Lee Ann Womack (Mark Wright)

Who Do I Want To Win?

Another great selection of songs. Again, I'm a big Brad Paisley fan, and would love to see him take this award for this deeply touching song.

Who Will Win?

If you go by weeks spent at the top of the charts, Breathe has this hands down, although I Hope You Dance may be more fresh in voter's minds, (voting takes place from August 11 - September 11), and spent just one week shy of the six week's Faith's song did at the top. Then there is How Do You Like Me Now? which also locked up the top spot for five weeks. Kenny's Buy Me A Rose gave him the distinction of the oldest country artist to have a #1 song. Brad's He Didn't Have To Be topped the lists for a single week.

So, my prediction? Faith Hill has a lot of exposure; successful album, singles, tour, plus the fact that her song spent the most consecutive weeks at #1, out of these nominees, I'm gonna have to go with Breathe.
