(Vocal Event of the Year)

The Vocal Event of the Year nominees are:

  • George Strait & Alan Jackson - "Murder On Music Row"
  • Asleep At The Wheel/Dixie Chicks - "Roly Poly"
  • Clint Black & Lisa Hartman Black - "When I Said I Do"
  • Faith Hill & Tim McGraw - "Let's Make Love"
  • Lee Ann Womack and Sons Of The Desert - "I Hope You Dance"

Who Do I Want To Win?

My favorite of the nominees above would have to be Clint Black with Lisa Hartman Black. They sound wonderful together, and it's a beautiful song.

Who Will Win?

Murder on Music Row was never very popular as far as the charts go, however its stars are! Anything with the Dixie Chicks name on it has a great chance of winning something. Clint Black's duet with Lisa won this category at the ACM's earlier this year, so that gives it a boost. Faith and Tim are hot, and their duet is climbing the charts during this critical voting time. Lee Ann Womack's song is really touching, and the Sons of the Desert blend perfectly with her on I Hope You Dance.

Clear as mud? Difficult decision. I'm gonna have to go with Let's Make Love, because of it being current on the charts, thus clear in the voting member's minds, but a close second would be Lee Ann and Sons of the Desert with I Hope You Dance.
