| Brooks & Dunn with Pat Green Concert Review | |
Next was "How Long Gone," and then my favorite "Long Goodbye." When I saw them last year this was their current single and I was surprised that they didn't sing it. Was great to hear it this time. Bringing the tempo back up, they then sang "My Maria."
Next, Ronnie sang their last single, "My Heart Is Lost To You." From there, they went back to their early songs with "Brand New Man," and then the crowd favorite, "Mama Don't Get Dressed Up For Nothin'." During the last song Ronnie plays a cowbell and tosses drumsticks into the audience.
Next, "Boot Scootin' Boogie," where Kix brings up a fan to dance with him on the stage. Then, Kix and Ronnie divide the crowd in half and each part of the crowd has to sing a line from "Rock My World, Little Country Girl." During this song a giant blow up girl inflates on the stage.
Again, back to some older stuff with "Hard Workin' Man," which closed out the show, and the guys left the stage... but not for long. They returned for a two song encore with "Good Girls Go To Heaven, Bad Girls Go Everywhere," and then a Waylon Jennings cover to close the evening, "I Ain't Livin' Long Like This."
Here is Brooks & Dunn's full set list:
Just as before, I had a wonderful time at the show, and recommend their show to everyone that enjoys country music. Especially traditional country. Kix and Ronnie know how to perform, and they have a great time doing it.
After a 30 minute intermission Kix & Ronnie hit the stage. On the left side of the stage were two bulls heads decorated with mirrors and under them was a black curtain. When the music started the black curtain dropped revealing an American flag and then it began to rotate, and behind the flag stood Kix and Ronnie. The opening song was "Only in America." The pics I got of this didn't turn out, 'cause of so many people standing in front of me with arms waving. After the small platform stopped rotating, Kix and Ronnie stepped off and to the center of the stage. Later in the song, several Marines came out and marched in front of the flag. Very cool. And of course, there was the canons that shot out confetti over the audience.
The second song was another single from their most recent album, Steers & Stripes, called "Ain't Nothin' 'Bout You." During the song, parts of the video played on the screen behind them. Next came "She's Not The Cheating Kind." Then Kix took center stage and Ronnie went into the background. Kix sang "You're Gonna Miss Me When I'm Gone." During this song, Kix came to the front of the stage and sat on the edge. On the screen at the rear of the stage they showed pictures, much of which I missed, since I was busy looking through the camera lens at Kix, taking pictures, but I did see they showed Waylon and Dale Earnhardt.
For "Neon Moon," Ronnie straps on his special guitar that has the words "Neon Moon" on the neck, and a glowing blue moon on the front. For part of the time on the screen behind him are stars and at the end a big moon. Towards the end of the song, Ronnie asked everyone to sing along with him. When we were done he said "I think that's the best I've ever heard it sung." After the song Ronnie said that he heard that it's unconstitutional to say the Pledge of Allegiance now. He says he doesn't agree, and he will knock out any guy that says he can't say it. To that he got a big round of applause.
During the last song Pat Green returned to help sing the song. He even did a somersault across the stage. Or, I should say, he tried to, but fell on his butt. But, that didn't bother him. He just got up and kept on singing. He's not afraid to have fun. :)
