Most of the selections are traditional favorites. There are also some original songs mixed in. I think Ricochet's version of "Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow" is one of the very best I've heard. Their voices blend so well that it gives that little bit "extra" to the song. Montgomery Gentry give us a new holiday song with "Merry Christmas From the Family." It is the holiday story of a somewhat dysfunctional family. A favorite for everyone, Gene Autry sings his version of "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer." It is sung in the traditional arrangement and is guaranteed to make everyone sing along. Merle Haggard sings "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" and it is another song that you are just required to sing along with. He sings it in the traditional arrangement, but it has the distinctive sound of "The Hag." Willie Nelson sings one of my childhood favorites, "Frosty the Snowman." Whenever I hear this song, it reminds me of snowy evenings growing up. It was always a Christmas tradition at our house to watch the cartoon and the song was always included when we went caroling around the neighborhood. Charlie Daniels gives us one of the original songs on the album, "Christmas Time Down South." Having moved to the South a few years ago, I can really relate to this song. It has an upbeat sound and describes the holiday feeling and preparations in the Deep South. The Possum himself, George Jones, sings us "Joy to the World." He sings it with the traditional arrangement, but it has the distinctive sound of George Jones. Collin Raye has a beautiful voice, and I really enjoy his contribution to the album. "It Could Happen Again," is a haunting song and asks some very real questions. Johnny Cash sings "O Come All Ye Faithful." This has to be one of my favorite songs of all time. He sings it beautifully. This is an excellent addition to any Holiday music collection. There is something for everyone. Song List:
