"Lucille," talking about all the rumors about her. At the end, she opened her jacket so people could read the lettering on her shirt that said "Daddy." It was a cute song, and I think it helped put people at ease with her as a new host. She did it well.

Trace Adkins and Access Hollywood's Nancy O'Dell presented the first award for Vocal Group.

The winner was:
The Dixie Chicks

Martie was the only "Chick" in attendance, and she made it clear that she's not going solo, and she felt naked there without her best friends. She then showed a picture of Natalie and Adrian's new baby, "Jack Slade," and thanked the fans for understanding that family comes first, and also thanked them for allowing them this long hiatus.

Billy Gilman came out next to sing his new single, "She's My Girl."

Next Brooks & Dunn came out and sang their latest single, "Ain't Nothin' 'Bout You."

Tracy Byrd & Mark Chesnutt presented Song of the Year Award.

The winner was:
Lee Ann Womack with "I Hope You Dance,"
written by Mark D. Sanders & Tia Sillers.
