When you think of Charlie Rich, you instantly remember such songs as "Behind Closed Doors," and "The Most Beautiful Girl." Both songs are on this Re-released album along with four bonus songs ("Mama Take Me Home," "Ruby You're Warm," "Papa Was A Good Man," and "I've Got Mine").

Charlie Rich was popular in not only country, but Rock & Roll, R&B, Gospel, and Jazz music. His musical spectrum was broad and he sounded good as well.

Though he'd been a respected American roots-music artist, first in rockabilly, and then in country, and had a couple of medium-sized hits on rock radio in the '60s, multi-talented Charlie Rich (1932-1995) became an "overnight" success with the 1973 release of Behind Closed Doors.

"If You Wouldn't Be My Lady" - If everything he enjoys is taken away, and if they took her love away from him, he would have no idea what to do anymore. If she left, so would the smile upon his face. The lines are sung slowly, while the chorus picks up the pace a bit.

When she left him in "You Never Really Wanted Me," he finally realizes that she never loved him in the first place while he adored her. One day she came back and he had the chance to tell her how he felt about everything. "I was busy laughing, waiting for the day, how time is gone and there's nothing left to say. Standing there, please don't cry over me. After all, you've never cried for me before."

"Til I Can't Take It Anymore" - He will never leave her, even though she lied from the beginning of the relationship until the end. She cheats on him with her loves and there is no doubt about that. Since she covers it up so well, he will live with it until he can't take it anymore, while he be prays for her to love only him.

"We Love Each Other" - They will always love eachother because they found their love long ago. It is the lasting kind and their love with grow stronger every day that goes by.

Before he met the lady in "I'm Not Going Hungry," he yearned for love and a shoulder to lean on. Once that love was found, he was going to "Plant a tree of love and just sit back and watch it grow."

In "Nothing In The World (To Do With Me)," the man is trying to convince himself that he is fine after the breakup. He goes to a bar to drink his troubles away but wants to call her and ask how it feels to be free. "I'd like to call her, just to ask her how it feels, to be free. But she has nothing, nothing in the word to do with me."
