line American Milestones - Kris Kristofferson, Rodney Crowell, Rodney Crowell & Joe Maphis
line

While many newer country fans may not recognize Rodney Crowell the singer, they'll certainly recognize his songwriting. Crowell is responsible for writing and/or co-writing "Ashes By Now," Lee Ann Womack's single, "Please Remember Me," by Tim McGraw, and "Thinkin' About Leavin'" by Dwight Yoakam.

This album, originally released in 1988 was Crowell's commercial breakthrough, containing 5 no. 1 singles, "It's Such a Small World," "I Couldn't Leave You If I Tried," "She's Crazy for Leavin'," "After All This Time," and "Above and Beyond."

With the 1988 release of Diamonds and Dirt, Rodney Crowell's stock rose faster than a new Internet issue in the
late-1990s.

Rodney Crowell

This album is my first from Rodney Crowell, and I really enjoyed the songs. He is a true storyteller, and his rich words speak to you in every song.

While some songs have a rockabilly sound to them, on others, such as "After All This Time" Crowell's voice eerily reminds me of Roy Orbison.

All the albums in the American Milestones series are collectibles, packed with new tracks and old favorites alike, and will appeal to country music fans that remember the songs first release. But, for those new country fans, I sincerely hope that they will give these artists a listen to hear what "real" country music is supposed to sound like... the roots of the music.
