This weeks column is about Shelton Hank Williams III.
While not much information is really available on Shelton Hank Williams III, I would like to share with you some of my thoughts on him and his music.
"I dont want to kill my reputation so bad in Nashville that I wont be able to still make music there I'm in it for as long as my voice will hold out. One day the revolution that is trying to happen will happen. The Grand Old Opry will get off their a**es and realize that when they were really happening most of the performers were under 25 just like us." - Shelton Hank Williams III
You all know by now who his father and grandfather are. Hank Williams Sr and Hank Williams Jr. Shelton as his friends call him has some mighty big shoes to fill in his quest for a music career and I think he has started out in the right direction, by going in the opposite direction of his relatives. They are calling his music country punk. Its pretty cool. He does a little of his grandad's songs, and style music for the curious, and then launches into his own frenzied style music. As one reviewer said there is as much of the crowd attending his
his shows that would be likely to body surf the crowd as there is older people who would want to line dance in it.
I think it's great that Shelton is doing what he wants to do musically. He says time and time again that he is just a regular guy like the rest of us who likes to party, play games on his computer and play music with his friends.
(Note) Hank III is currently working on his second album and has a song "Hang On," on the "Driven" movie soundtrack.
