I have decided to write this weeks Carrie's Corner about Patty Loveless. (:
I've been listening to Patty's music since she first came onto the country music scene in the mid 1980s. She is just amazing.
Quick Patty Facts
Patty was born on January 4, 1957 in Pikeville Kentucky. She is the youngest of 7 siblings
Patty was 14 when her brother took her and an impressive collection of self penned tunes to Nashville to audition for Porter Wagner.
She is the third cousin of Loretta Lynn and Crystal Gayle. A family tie she kept underwraps until Loretta revealed the family connection in an interview early in Patty's career.
Patty was the featured girl singer for several years with the Wilburn Brothers. (In an interesting coincidence) she was the replacement for her cousin Loretta.
She was inducted into the Grand Old Opry in 1988.
Patty has made 17 country music videos including "A Thousand Times A Day" and "I Try To Think About Elvis."
I just dont know how anyone could listen to her latest album Strong Heart and not like it. From the first song "You're So Cool," which is a lighthearted fluff song, to the emotional soul bearing of "My Heart Will Never Break This Way Again," and "She Never Stopped Loving Him" (which a lot of people are calling the answer song to George Jones' classic country tune "He Stopped Loving Her Today") to the absolutely amazing duet with Travis Tritt, "Thirsty," Strong Heart is Patty at her all-time best.
