K.T. Oslin has been one of my favorite singers since I first heard "80s Ladies" in 1987.

K.T. is one of my favorite singers because she tells it like it is about the things that concern us so called normal women. In "80s Ladies," she talks about the stages of a woman's life. "Girls Of The Fifties Stone Rock and Rollers in the 60s. And More Then Our Names Got Changed As The 70s Slipped On By. Now We're 80s Ladies. There Ain't Been Much These Ladies Ain't Tried."

In the song "Hold Me," she sings about a woman who has just had it and has left home and then turns around and heads back. "When I Left Here This Morning I Was Bound And Determined I Was Never Gonna Come Back. I Was Running From You Darlin'. I Was Running From My Job. I Was Running From Some Wrinkles No Cream Will Stop."

In another of my favorite K.T. songs "I'll Always Come Back," she transforms a tender love song into a song and music video for a child whose parents have divorced. She wants the child to know how much she loves him and will always be there for him. "I'm Your Shepherd You're My Little Lamb You Ain't Always Gonna Know Where I Am But Don't You Worry I'll Come Back."

Who but the sassy K.T. could get away with calling an album "Songs From An Aging Sex Bomb," or make a love song "Come Next Monday" into a music video about the marital difficulties of Frankenstein and his bride (with K.T. portraying Mrs. Frankenstein.)

In the early 90s K.T. decided to take a break from singing and appeared in the great Burt Reynolds TV show "Evening Shade," and in the movie "Thing Called Love." In "Thing Called Love" she portrayed a country bar and restaurant owner. Where all the young country music star wannabes would come to work and hopefully get "discovered" and get their "big break" on the clubs amateur night. (Sort of like a modern day Tootsies Orchid Lounge without the hatpin welded by the famous Tootsie Bess.)
