Montgomery Gentry sang "All Night Long" with Charlie Daniels accompanying them.

Pam Tillis and Kenny Chesney presented the award for Vocal Duo.

The winner of the award was:
Montgomery Gentry

Montgomery Gentry winning the Duo award broke the 8-time winning streak of Brooks and Dunn.

When Vince came back after Montgomery Gentry's win, he was spinning a microphone stand like Eddie Montgomery does when he sings. He made reference that he came out with a banjo the year when the Dixie Chicks had first won, and this was his new thing.

LeAnn Rimes sang her current single, "I Need You." It seems that LeAnn could use some more vocal rest as she didn't do well on the song, and hit a bad note and her voice cracked.

Vince Gill sang his latest single, "Feels Like Love."

Sara Evans and Lance Bass from the pop group, 'NSync presented the award for Male Vocalist.

The winner of the award was:
Tim McGraw.

Jo Dee Messina sang the title cut from her latest album, "Burn" surrounded by candles.

Brooks & Dunn presented the award for Female Vocalist.

The winner of the award was:
Faith Hill.

Lonestar performed "Tell Her." Gotta mention that Richie's hair looked strange, like someone permed his bangs or something. They sounded good though.

The Kinleys and The Warren Brothers presented the award for Vocal Group.

The winner of the award was:
The Dixie Chicks
