Katie Cook, Cledus T. Judd and Lance Smith were on the Red Carpet before the show to interview the stars as they entered the building.

Here are some of the highlights.

Katie & Cledus interviewed Kix Brooks & Ronnie Dunn of Brooks & Dunn, who looked casual.. Ronnie was in a black velvet jacket with a white shirt and jeans and Kix was in a black jacket and slacks and a white shirt. They kidded Cledus about his attire, which was a velvet jacket and pants in black and I think a purple silk shirt. They were asked about what it's like to have won so many awards, and do they know how many they've actually won, or have they lost count? Ronnie quipped that the real thing is that they're bad at math and that if it's 2 or over, they can't count it. They were asked what it takes to win Entertainer. Ronnie said you need a bubble blowing goat. Cledus then mentioned what about a great MC? And Ronnie agreed, yeah a great MC in pajamas, and they asked him if he didn't wear that outfit to bed while on the Neon Circus tour.

Next Katie talked to Phil Vassar, who looked snappy in a black pinstripe jacket with a purple shirt and black slacks. They talked to him about if he's nervous being up for Horizon again since he was up last year. He said it's not as much pressure this year. They also talked about how he's having fun on his Club Paradise Tour.

Tracy Byrd was up next in a black velvet jacket and jeans with a white shirt. He talked about his new son who was a big one! 9 lbs. 1 when he was born and he's up to 15 lbs now. His wife wasn't able to make the trip this time. Then, Cledus congratulated Tracy on his #1 hit, "Ten Rounds with Jose Cuervo" as well, and said he's got his own version "Ten Rounds with Pepto Bismol" and he wanted Tracy to sing backup with him, which Tracy said he's be happy to do.

Chris Cagle was next in a brown brocade Manuel jacket. He said he realized he only had his one suitcase and didn't have anything to wear, so he went to Manuel's shop and he started speaking Spanish (Manuel, not him), and he knew he was in trouble. Said he could have bought a truck, but he bought the jacket.

Steve Azar was next in a black jacket and slacks with a white shirt that was opened at the top. He talked about the video for "Waiting On Joe" and said how he's so happy Morgan Freeman agreed to be in it.

Next Lance talked to Nickel Creek. Sara looked great in a long strapless black gown, but Sean and Chris looked awful. Sean had a light blue shirt and jeans and a weird blue tie, and Chris had to be the absolute worst dressed. He looked like he belonged in a grunge rock video. His hair was all sticking up in the air, and he said the stylist got ahold of it and made him look like a stegosaurus. AWFUL!!! He had a tan colored jacket and jeans. They talked about being nominated and said they were gonna sing "This Side."

Lonestar talked with Katie and Cledus. Michael Britt was in a black jacket and slacks with a blueish patterned shirt. Keech Rainwater was in a tan jacket with brown pants and black shirt. Richie McDonald had a black jacket and shirt and pants, and Dean Sams had black jacket, slacks and a pattern shirt. They talked about being the "reigning" vocal group, and how it wasn't as much pressure this year since they had already won the award last year. Then, Dean kidded that he wants to go out and buy a suit just like the one that Cledus was wearing.

Lee Ann Womack talked with Katie and Cledus and Cledus remarked how he thought "Something Worth Leaving Behind" was absolutely the best song he'd heard. They talked with Lee Ann about being the reigning Female Vocalist and she said it's less pressure since she's already won it. Then, they mentioned her Christmas album, The Season For Romance, which she said has a big band style, and is one of the things she's most proud of making.

Montgomery Gentry came over to Katie and Cledus next with Eddie's daughter, Candace. Eddie was dressed in his usual all black duster, pants, shirt and hat with his red boots. Troy had on a Brown suede sweater, blue jeans, sunglasses and he had a little goatee that looked a bit strange. Eddie's daughter had a long red sparkley dress and her hair was up. She looked really pretty.

Lance talked with Rascal Flatts who were all in black and white. Joe Don wore a sort of black lacey long-sleeve shirt and black pants, Jay had a black suede suit with a white shirt, and Gary had a white shirt over a black top, and black pants with a white stripe up the side of the leg. They said they were real excited to be nominated in two categories, and would be singing "These Days" on the show. They also talked about their new CD, Melt, which hit stores a week ago, and how it had gone Gold already.

Blake Shelton in a black jacket, jeans and top said he was here with girlfriend Kaynette, who's around somewhere. He originally said he was with his pet monkey Ira Dean. He said he just finished the video for his new single, "The Baby," and asked Cledus when he's gonna do a parody of one of his songs, because everyone knows that you haven't made it in the business until Cledus parodies one of your songs.

Trick Pony was next and Ira Dean was wearing a white duster with fur trim, a reddish hat, black shirt and pants. Keith was in tight black leather (his words), and Heidi looked great in a low cut black long dress that was sparkley on the top and silky on the bottom. They talked about their new album, On a Mission.

Martina McBride had her hair cut shorter again and wore a beautiful burgandy velvet dress. She said she's nervous when she performs at awards shows, and has her parents here for this one for the first time, so it's extra special She's combatting her nerves by making sure everything is ok for them, so she doesn't have time to be nervous.

Lance spoke with Darryl Worley who has to be the best dressed of the night.. he had a gorgeous pearl gray long jacket with black trim. (Looks like a Manuel) Underneath he had a black shirt without a collar, and black pants. He said he'll be performing the 2 1/2 min version of "I Miss My Friend." Then, he kidded that he could just sing it really fast and get the whole thing in. He also talked about touring with Trace Adkins in the "Big Men of Country Tour," and said they were having a great time out on the road.

Katie then talked with Brad Paisley and Little Jimmy Dickens. Brad was in black leather jacket and jeans with a white shirt and white hat. Little Jimmy was in a black jacket, white shirt, black pants and white hat. They talked about his video for "I'm Gonna Miss Her," which is nominated this year. Katie asked Brad if he could win one award tonight, which would it be? And Brad said he'd probably like to win for the video.

Travis Tritt was next with his beautiful wife, Teresa. They were matching in autumn colors. Travis was in a brown duster and brown patterned shirt and brown slacks. Teresa was in a low cut brown silky dress. Travis talked about Crossroads, which he recently filmed with Ray Charles. He said that Ray Charles has the most influence on the way he sings. The show will air on Dec. 6th.

Next came Sara Evans, who is 7 months pregnant and wore a beautiful reddish maroon velvet pantsuit with a black sparkley top. She looked great. She was there with her hubby Craig. She said she's due in 8 weeks and hopes she doesn't go into labor.

Lance was back with Carolyn Dawn Johnson, who was wearing a velvet burgandy brocade jacket and burgandy top with burgandy slacks. She said she's not nervous about her Horizon nomination, and is happy she's gonna sing her latest single, "One Day Closer To You." Then, Lance held up her hand and congratulated her on her engagement, and they showed the ring to the camera. She said she's known her fiance for 6 years and dated for the past 3 years.

Joe Nichols was next with Katie and Cledus. He was wearing a black suit with a light blue shirt and tie. He talked about how the success of "The Impossible" changed his life.

Marty Roe and Dana Williams from Diamond Rio came up next to talk to Katie and Cledus, and talked about taking back the Group of the Year award. They said they've held back long enough and they're claiming it again. They had won it 4 years in a row before. Then, the camera showed Cledus platform shoes that had clear heels with goldfish inside.

That's it. Not a whole lot to talk about.

Worst dressed - Chris Thile from Nickel Creek
