When it came to awards it was the Dixie Chicks, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley and Montgomery Gentry everywhere you turned.
At the Grammy awards, it was the Dixie Chicks and Shania Twain that cleaned up. The Chicks won for Best Album, for Fly, and Best Performance by a Duo or Group for "Ready To Run." Shania also came up with two awards with Best Female for "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" and Song for "Come On Over." George Jones won Best Male and Willie Nelson received the Lifetime Achievement award.
At the ACM awards, the Dixie Chicks won Top Vocal Group, and Album, for Fly. Faith Hill won Top Female Vocalist and Best Video for "Breathe." Shania Twain picked up Entertainer of the Year. Brad Paisley picked up New Male and Jessica Andrews picked up New Female. Montgomery Gentry picked up the New Duo. Lonestar's "Amazed" picked up not only Single of the Year, but also Song of the Year, and Clint Black and wife, Lisa won for Vocal Collaboration on "When I Said I Do."
At the TNN/Country Weekly awards, George Strait was chosen as Entertainer and Male Artist. The Dixie Chicks received the Group/Duo Award, while Faith Hill took home the Female Artist award. Brad Paisley received the Discovery Award, and his song, "He Didn't Have To Be" was voted video and song of the year. The Country Weekly Career Achievement Award went to Kenny Rogers.
