Lorrie Morgan's latest release is sure to be a winner. She has teamed up with Image Entertainment to film a Live Concert. "The Color of Roses" is her latest single and the title of her Live DVD/CD project. According to Lorrie, a live concert recording is something she has wanted to do for years and just never seemed to have the right opportunity for it. This is a two CD set that offers a live concert recording on one disc and a 45 minute interview with Lorrie along with studio tracks of "The Color of Roses" and "Help Me Make It Through The Night" on the other disc.

This album allows Lorrie to showcase her many musical talents. She is very much at home on the stage and enjoys interacting with her audience. It is easy to see why Lorrie maintains a very loyal fan following. She can successfully perform many different styles of music and there is a little of everything in this album. Lorrie is sassy one minute with songs such as "Watch Me," "Go Away," "Half Enough," "Except For Monday" and "What Part of No." These are some of Lorrie's big hits and trademark tunes. She shows us the woman who is in complete control of her destiny with songs such as "Good As I Was To You," and "I Didn't Know My Own Strength." With such songs as "Something In Red," "Trainwreck of Emotion," and "My Favorite Things," Lorrie is at her sultry best. She shows us her romantic side with songs such as "Secret Love," "Color of Roses," "Good Morning Heartache," and "Fly Me To The Moon." And not only can Lorrie sing all these selections with ease - she can pick a guitar along with the best of them.

There are also some songs that Lorrie has chosen to cover in her show and she does an awesome job. She sings "A Picture of Me (Without You)," that may possibly be in tribute to the time she spent touring with George Jones. "Harper Valley PTA" always remains a crowd favorite. I've heard several versions of the song, "My Favorite Things," but I think Lorrie's version is my favorite. I never get tired of listening to it.

This album would be an asset to any music collection. It offers most of Lorrie's tried and true favorites along with some exciting new material. In addition, you get a taste of being at one of her live shows without ever leaving the comfort of your home.
