"Hello Darlin'" was Conway Twitty's signature song. Every time I hear this song is like the first time. I have always loved the way Conway begins the song "Hello darlin" in that half whisper style of his. "15 Years Ago" is the story of a man who is happily married, but is harboring too strong of feelings for an old love. "15 years ago and I still feel the same, why did he have to mention your name? I'm as broken up inside as if it's been a week or so. It takes a mighty long time to get a real love off your mind. I know I've tried since 15 years ago." Avid country music fans are sure to remember Ben Colder's parody of this song, "15 Beers Ago." "Danny Boy," as we all know, is an old Irish tune. Conway took the song, picked up the tempo, added a honky tonk piano and made it in a 1950s rock and roll style rock and roll tune. "You've Never Been This Far Before" (the boom boom boom song) is one of Conway's greatest and I am sure most controversial songs. "This Time I've Hurt Her More Than She Loves Me" is a song about a guy who has used up his last "attaboy" with the lady he loves. He is so far in the doghouse that even the dog has kicked him to the curb. "I've been too busy drinkin'. She's been too busy thinkin' about the kind of love she needs and the man she never sees. She has already stood for more then I am ever good for. This time I hurt her more then she loves me." "On Our Last Date" was originally a Floyd Cramer instrumental called "Last Date." It has always been a favorite of mine. The tinkling piano notes and Conway's voice are a very good combination. "Don't Cry Joni" is one of those songs that never fails to make me cry. This is the story of a young lady who is in love with an older man. She confesses her feelings and he tells her that she is just too young and she vows to wait for him forever. He goes away and is consumed with his thoughts of her. He falls in love with her and then goes back to his hometown and her. Unfortunately, time has changed her feelings and she has married his best friend. Conway has a partner in this song. It is his daughter Joni Lee. The fact that this is a father/daughter duet makes this song even more special and that much more of a tearjerker. Song List
