"The Bowling Song" is performed by one of my favorite groups - Asleep at the Wheel. It has a decidedly western swing tempo. It talks about how much he likes bowling and what he does when he goes. Eric Heatherly lends his talents to "Down By The Bay." This is my littlest daughter's favorite song from the album. It has a cool tempo that makes you want to just get up and move. It also has some really silly lyrics like, "Did you ever see a goose kissing a moose down by the bay?" That always results in giggle fits from the children's section. Billy Gilman sings "Baby Beluga." His voice just seems to fit this song. It is the story of a baby whale. "Blue White Planet" is one of the two new songs on this project. Raffi himself performs it. It is the story of earth and the surrounding planets in terms a child can understand. Has a definite "save the earth" message to it. "Naturally" is a song about farming and growing your own food. Marty Stuart gives it a definite "country" flavor and talks about the positive effect of naturally grown food. Another silly song on the album, "Bananaphone" makes you giggle when you hear it. It has silly lyrics and is talking about having fun pretending a banana is a phone. Rhonda Vincent lends a Bluegrass sound to this song. Lari White performs one of her little girl's favorite songs - "Shake My Sillies Out." She only recommends it for the "seriously silly parents." It is an action song and you are almost forced to get up and be silly. "Thanks A Lot" is a song giving thanks for all of nature. Raul Malo gives it a Native American tempo. It is a slow song, and very thought provoking. All in all it has been a great album to listen to. While it is geared towards parents of young children, I think I would enjoy it on my own. I seem to be an overgrown child myself and it is just plain fun to listen to. A lot of very talented artist came together to make this project happen - and it is a great tribute to Raffi. Song List:
